Powering Dacre Lakeside Park: Three High-Performance Solar Arrays Delivered by Boston Renewables
The team at Boston Renewables successfully designed and installed three high-performance ground-mounted solar PV arrays at Dacre Lakeside Park on behalf of Sandsfield Leisure. Each system was carefully engineered to maximise the available land space and deliver optimum performance, ensuring the highest possible renewable energy output for the site.
The project began with the installation of a 110kW ground-mounted solar array. From the early planning and consultation stages, the Boston Renewables team worked closely with Sandsfield Leisure to develop the most effective renewable energy solution tailored to the park’s operational requirements. This included implementing a private wire connection using a nearby company-owned field, allowing the solar-generated electricity to be supplied directly to the leisure park.
By delivering power directly to the site, the installation helps reduce reliance on grid electricity, lower ongoing operational energy costs, and improve overall energy efficiency. The private wire setup also enables Dacre Lakeside Park to make greater use of locally generated renewable energy while maximising the value of the available land.
Following the success of the initial installation, two additional ground-mounted solar PV systems were delivered at the park to further strengthen its renewable energy infrastructure. These systems included a 100kW solar array and an 80kW solar array, significantly increasing the site’s clean energy generation capacity.
Together, the three installations generate approximately 300,000kWh of renewable electricity annually, providing a substantial long-term energy source for the park while helping to reduce carbon emissions and future-proof energy costs. The project not only enhances the site’s energy resilience but also supports Dacre Lakeside Park’s wider sustainability ambitions and commitment to environmentally responsible operations.
As businesses across the UK continue to face rising energy costs and increasing sustainability pressures, projects like this highlight the growing importance of commercial solar investment and on-site renewable energy generation.
